Below is the basic movement example of an avatar : Idle , Up , Down , Left and Right. There's is no rules and limit on how many frames in making the avatar. i am using 24x24 px for the avatar and 6x2 block for the sheets.
Best way to avoid any mistake or over cut is to align all the animation frames properly.
